Anxiety

Worry is a thought, a constant thought about something to come, something uncertain. Support, education, companionship, and time usually help alleviate the ordinary worries. However, sometimes the strategies of dealing with worry become ineffective for people who are constantly worrying. Anxiety can manifest in many different forms and it varies from person to person. For some people, anxiety can be an inability to breath; others may have anxiety symptoms such as muscle achiness, chronic fatigue, dizziness, and accelerated heart rate.

Treatment of anxiety:

  • Enhance patient’s quality of life
  • Decrease his or her social, occupational, and functional impairment
  • Identify distorted thinking and develop alternative rational thoughts and beliefs
