MARKETING COMMUNICATIONS INTERN

Job Location: Orlando, FL

Job Status: Part Time – Flexible Hours

Description: Are you a student who is interested in communications and/or marketing and has a strong desire to sharpen your writing skills. This position is integral to Marta Rocha & Associates Counseling Center as the communications and marketing assistant supports the workflow and communication efforts and directly assists the President and Founder of the practice.

Marta Rocha & Associates Counseling Center is a practice providing a wide range of counseling services to individuals, couples and families in Central Florida. Due to the size of our company, the assistant is guaranteed to gain experience in all types of marketing projects/initiatives.

This is an entry‐level position for someone interested in communications and/or marketing and for someone looking to apply strong communications skills to a dynamic, health services practice.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Write content for websites
  • Write keyword rich, technical press releases about new products and company/industry news
  • Create and modify documents using Microsoft Office, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Assist in the creation of enewsletters; writing marketing messages, compiling photos, content and logos and implementing in online program
  • Assist in the final preparation for marketing materials; proofread, editing, posting on sites, and sending test messages
  • Research industry specific keywords and write creative content for Google Ad Words
  • Assist in the research of and creation of proposals for new business plans
  • Assist in development of websites as well as with website content management tasks
  • Assist in social media efforts including posting updates on Facebook fan pages and contributing ideas for company blogs
  • Create concise, accurate and informative email blasts that engage customers

REQUIREMENTS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Currently enrolled and pursuing an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related major
  • GPA minimum of 2.5 or better based on a 4.0 scale
  • Internet abilities and strong communication skills; written and oral
  • Experience with detail‐driven projects preferably in a marketing department
  • Basic understanding of marketing/communication tools and techniques
  • Advanced word processing skills, including proficiency with Excel and Word
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, priorities and deadlines
  • Ability to proofread
  • Flexible and proactive in taking on assignments and responsibilities, and willingness to learn

 

OFFICE COORDINATOR INTERN

Description: The Office Coordinator Intern will assist clients and serve as a liaison between the counseling center and members of the community, perform brief intake assessments of clients and match to a counselor; facilitate communication between staff members and the members of the community; and maintain the schedule, appointments and follow-ups between clients and counseling staff members.

The Office Coordinator Intern is also responsible for general office management which includes: department reception and telephones, assisting with report writing, tracking and documenting department budget, coordinating weekly case review meetings, and providing general administrative support to members of the counseling center.

In addition, the Office Coordinator Intern will assist with the counseling center community wide events and activities, and assist with therapeutic groups and workshops.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Currently enrolled and pursuing an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Business, Marketing, Information Technology or a related major.
  • 6 hours of satisfactorily completed college Psychology, and/or Business coursework.
  • GPA minimum of 2.5 or better based on a 4.0 scale
  • Strong computer competence (Microsoft Applications: Word, Excel)
  • Strong attention to detail and be able to produce high quality and accurate work
  • Strong oral communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to plan and take initiative independently
